Additional information:

Does it hurt and what could go wrong?

Treatments are conducted under local anaesthetic cream or injecting a local anaesthetic to the skin tag area before removal, making treatment relatively painless or just with minor discomfort.

After treatment, the skin left behind may be tender for a few days and will need to be covered.

Will the skin tag grow back?

The treatment will permanently remove the skin tag, however, this will not stop skin tags growing back in other areas in the future.

Post-treatment advice may include:

  • After procedure you can go home as soon as your anaesthetic wears off and aftercare will be given to you.
  • It is also best to use sunscreen on the treated area.

Skin Tag Removal

About skin tags

Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths that hang off the skin and

a bit like warts.  They're very common, harmless, and can vary in colour and

size – from a few millimetres up to 5cm. They are made up of loose collagen

fibres and blood vessels surrounded by skin. Collagen is a normal type of

protein found throughout the body. Common in both men and women and

usually found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They

can also grow on the eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks.

What happens during the treatment?

Skin tags are harmless and don't usually cause pain or discomfort.  In our clinic, skin tags can be quickly and easily removed by cautery, cryotherapy or they can be surgically removed. Treatment is performed by Jolanta, our registered nurse and is completely safe.
